The revival of interest in Norwid's poetry and thought also finds expression in a growing number of translations of his works into many languages. The task which Adam Czerniawski; poet and translator of Polish literature into English, has set himself in translating Norwid's best-known poems aims at revealing how his work anticipates 20th century poetry. This selection should also be of interest to the Polish reader who will have a chance to appreciate the universal characteristics in the work of this native Polish classic writer.
